What are prerolls?
Joints are the icon of communal cannabis culture. A joint is cheap, discreet, disposable, and easily shared among friends. What is in prerolls?
As budtenders in dispensaries shift nugs of cannabis in their jars, smaller bits of flower, known as shake, fall off. The shake gets collected for use in prerolls.
The use of shake is a widespread practice, and it ensures that all of a dispensary’s flower is put to use. Some consumers think shake is low-quality cannabis, which is a misconception. Shake is just smaller pieces of the same high quality buds of flower that we offer.
Different preroll varieties
Prerolls are usually made with regular flower but they can also be infused. Infused prerolls are joints with a concentrate, usually kief or shatter, either in or on the surface. Concentrates are more potent than flower, so the addition of concentrates increases the overall potency of the joint. Infused preroll joints are a popular choice among experienced cannabis users who have a higher THC tolerance.
